I like some things about this campground a lot. It was quiet, woodsy, private (some sites), and clean. However, several sites are literally right next to a main road which is undesirable. Also, you need to clean up every food & drink related item and place them in a locked vehicle because of bears which is also undesirable because we have a pretty large set up. I probably wont be back just considering I don't have to do this type of thing at other campgrounds. However, if you are a minimalist whilst camping and like private woodsy sites, then this is a pretty nice spot as long as you get a site away from the road.

I have been camping at Campton WMNF Campground since the late 1960's with Family and then friends thru the years.. always a fun place and perfectly situated for visiting the WM 's , really wish they would re-open the sites across the street that was damaged by storm years ago

We went there in the beginning of april and it was empty. Great campground in a forest setting. They have bathroom and access to water. You can also make some fires in firepit.

I have read the google reviews on the ranger been rude before we camped there. But never had anyone bothering us during the time we were there . overall nice place , except there are no nearby hiking trails or outdoor activities to do. Not all sites are pet friendly .check thier website before you go .

Whether just rude or totally racist, the host has shown himself to be less than welcoming. Our first time there, this man repeatedly came by our campsite to tell is we were being too loud (was not quiet hours and there was a guy having a full music jam session the next site over that he never once spoke to). I was the one white person in a group of non white people. When I approached him he was pleasant, when anyone else in our group approach him they were met with rudeness. Second time we ended up there by accident, not realizing it was the place we had a bad experience with. Once again, this guy is continuously coming by our site and harassing us - while not once speaking to any of the sites around us who are louder and who keep their site far less clean. Went there once, ended up there a second time by accident; you can be sure we will never again forget the name of this campground.
